The work of two Italian ‘artistic’ sisters, Mary and Annarita Mazzilli

Mary Mazzilli, published writer and university lecturer, presents a staged reading of her new play “Old Bags” to an intimate audience before it transfers to New Wimbledon Studio in October (12th -16th October).
Days pass by with unceasing repetitions in the life of two people, Dorian and Vivian. Vivian, an Irish old lady in her seventies, widow of British Army official shows the first signs of senile dementia. Dorian, going through a middle-life crisis has decided to leave everything behind. Two stories, two different journeys of two unlikely companions, who face a common enemy and hide behind their memories.
The reading of “Old Bags” will take place on 8th August 2010 at 6pm at The Bell Pub - 50 Middlesex Street London E1 7EX (Liverpool street Tube).
Annarita Mazzilli, a Laban trained dancer, has performed in Europe (Russia, Austria, Germany, Greece), will  choreograph her first dance theatre piece, “Casa” for the Camden Fringe Festival.
The work explores the themes of cultural identity and personal alienation. It looks at the problems with cultural identification and integration despite living in a globalised changing culture. Human interrelation, sense of community and solitude are all part of the everyday struggle to fit. A mixed ensemble of dancers and actors explore cultural identity and alienation.
“Casa”, part of the Fringe Camden, will be presented from 9th to 13th August 2010 at 9.15pm  at the Camden People’s Theatre,  58-60 Hampstead Road, London, NW1 2PY- Warren Street Tube .
