A master's degree in European Studies from Brussels, work experience as Project Manager at Italian Chamber of Commerce in Budapest, Director of the Tax Planning at "Phoros Accountancy Ltd" in London. How important is international experience in your field?
Fundamental. Not only is it necessary to your curricula, but it enriches your personal and professional experience.
From 2008 you work at Belluzzo & Associati (B&A), a renowned tax and law firm in London. How did this synergy begin?
It began when I responded to an advert placed by B&A through the Italian Chamber of Commerce in London. They were looking for a person with qualifications and experience such as mine, whereas I was looking for a firm that could allow me to work with autonomy and enthusiasm. The moment I took office there, a great synergy came into being.
What exactly is your collaboration with B&A?
My collaboration for the London headquarters translates into support for the launch and internationalisation of Italian companies in the European markets. I also provide support during the purchase or lease of business properties in London and Europe. I also offer tax planning and tax advice for non-UK residents as well as Italians who reside in London or those who plan to relocate to the UK.
Is Valentino Rossi one such client?
I cannot disclose the names of our private clients.
What is in store on the tax horizon for non-UK residents?
From 2012 each person will be assessed on individual basis. Residency and Domicile Rules will uphold the double taxation treaty signed between member states.
Does this mean that Valentino Rossi will quit London?
You may want to ask him that question.

B&A have offices in Milan, Verona and London. What is the future of your business in such an inflated world market?
Yes, it is true, the markets are inflated, but the best strategy under such circumstances is to employ an honest and transparent work tactic.
In December 2010 B&A, London, held the annual workshop "UK - Italy Cross Border Tax & Legal Update". What does this workshop entail exactly?
It provides customers the opportunity to be informed on the latest Italian/British tax matters.
Aren’t these ‘updates’ schemes that serve tax evasion?
They are not. We assist clients to make sense of what are dynamic and complex tax laws.
What is SERPICO?
It is a sophisticated Italian software able to calculate what anyone should be paying in taxes every year. If you use a credit card to pay for a meal, SERPICO gets to learn what you can afford to eat and ... what ytou can afford to pay in taxes. With the implementation of SERPICO, the Italian government is set to recover 20 million Euros in unpaid taxes.
B&A is a runner up in the "Society of Trust Estate Practitioners (STEP) Awards 2011/12" as the "International Legal, Team of the Year". What does this accolade mean to your firm?
The B&A, Trustees Team, has worked with great diligence. This is a well-deserved award.
What is the key to the success of B&A?
I would say that word of mouth customer referral is at the heart of success. Maurizio Marinella is one of our key business clients, who entrusted our firm with the opening of his boutique in Maddox Street, London.
What are the qualities necessary to embark on a career with a firm such as yours?
A good academic and practical course of study, followed by an international experience, is essential. Determination and ambition are two assets important for any career.
