Mehdi Assarian - Property Investor
1. Where do you come from? Where do you live?
I was born in Tehran and moved to London with my family at the age of 12 where I’ve lived ever since.
2. What do you do? What is the most interesting aspect of your work?
I’m a Property Investor and have an estate agency in Marylerbone (www.manzel.co.uk.). The most interesting aspect of my work is dealing with people - I always strive to offer good customer service.
3. Which is the most important achievement of your professional career? What would you say helped you achieve this?
This week I sold a 3million pound property in Bayswater: is this a big achievement? I’d say that my most important achievement so far has got to be the fact that I was able to educate myself in order to perform a job I really enjoy doing. I started late in property business and at the time I had no money to go to college or university. The only thing to do was to get a ‘real’ job. This I did and joined an estate agency with a good manager (10 years my junior) who was also a very good teacher. Determination and a positive attitude can help you achieve any objective.
4. How do you spend your free time?
In my free time I’m likely to be working on a new project. However, I support both financially and enthusiastically a football team and will attend matches whenever I can.
5 What are your plans for the future?
My future project is the launch of a fashion magazine called ‘War’ which first came out last year. I have meantime regrouped with a new Fashion Director and am looking forward to launching the magazine’s second issue.
