Richmond resident Peter Jones has been a successful landlord and property developer for over a decade. His company, M&P Home Finder, (co-founded with brother Matthew) boasts an impressive property portfolio of buildings located in the finest and up-coming areas of London. Peter's wealth of experience in the property business is very much saught after by clients. His work is renowned for being solely in the buyer's best interest.

Why is Richmond so special?
I've lived in Richmond most of my life. It's a great location which offers a pleasant rural feel and at the same time is in close proximity the hustle and bustle of central London.
which is the most interesting aspect of your work?
I have had quite a career shift during my working life, having started as a Detective with the Metropolitan Police I moved on to set up my own business in residential property. Im now a Professional Property Investor with a large portfolio of property across the capital. I have a real love of architecture but without doubt the real joy of owning a company is the satisfaction of watching it grow and of course being your own boss!
What is the most important achievement of your professional career/life to date?
My biggest achievement in my career must be the company that I have set up, its so rewarding to set up something from nothing and be able to watch it expand and evolve.
How has the present economic crisis affected your industry?
One has to keep things in perspective we have had many years of astronomical economic growth and we will do again, however in the mean time whilst prices are suffering landlords are finding that with the current low interest rates mortgage payments are low whilst rents remain good, the result is some excellent yields for landlords and a real plus in an otherwise difficult market. However remember that property is a long term asset and the long term prognosis for property values is still good.

How do you spend your free time? What is your favourite bar/restaurant/club?
I spend most of my free time with my fiancée and friends who are such an important part of my life. I love the variety of good bars and restaurants that London offers, I love food and wine so combining friends with eating and drinking gives me my happiest times. My favourite Bar & Restuarant? It varies but currently 'Lost Society' in Clapham for a fun night out and Claridges or Caprice for some superb fine dining.
What is your favourite book? And film?
My favourite book is 'Nemesis' its a biography of Aristotle Onassis and is a great insight into human nature and high society. It’s also a great example of how NOT to spend your 'ill earned gains'! My favourite film has to be 'Breakfast at Tiffany’s...pure class!
Is there a holiday destination you particularly like?
Puglia is one of the nicest Italian regions – as a matter of fact I am thinking of investing in Polignano which is a charming little town.
My plans for the future?.......create a self sustained business that allows me to spend my days taking friends away for parties and holidays.....more of the good life please!
