On 2-3 April 2010 the Salento International Film Festival (SIFF) will begin its world tour at the Prince Charles Cinema by showing a selection of movies: SIFF: BEST OF THE FEST.
 

For over 40 years the Prince Charles Cinema, located in London’s famous Leicester Square has been the epicentre of independent cinema and home to the renowned film festival "Cult".


 
"It‘s one of my favourite cinemas in England," said Quentin Tarantino. "The Prince Charles Cinema is everything that an independent cinema should be. For lovers of quality films, this cinema is Mecca."
 

 
SIFF: BEST OF THE FEST is produced by CineSalento, whose main objective is to promote the Salento region of Puglia through its yearly film festival rendez-vous.
The two days allocated to the SIFF by the Prince Charles Cinema is a sign of recognition for Gigi Campanile, Director of SIFF for the past eight years, who has brought well-deserved international notoriety' to the picturesque city of Tricase, home of the festival.
 
SIFF: BEST OF THE FEST 2010 will be followed by the cameras of ANTENNASUD (Puglia TV) and will provide forum for discussions with authors and actors, as well as the chance to sample wines from the Salento region.
From 2011 the SIFF LONDON: BEST OF THE FEST will be an annual event at the Prince Charles Cinema’s with 4 days of great films being shown during the Easter bank holiday.

SIFF on Tour
 

More excitingly, once SIFF has finished its residency at the Prince Charles Cinema, the festival will travel internationally. On 14 and 15 April 2011, SIFF will travel from London to the Art Institute Naregatsi Yerevan - Armenia;  New York in late April 2011 (dates TBC), and finally, Sydney, Australia and Auckland, Christchurch and Dunedin in New Zealand.

SIFF represents another creative facet of Puglia, crossroads of creativity - past and present.
