Great success of "Lust, Last, Lost" at the Shaw Theatre
"Lust, Last, Lost" bravely put under the spotlight the fragility of human nature. With captors becoming captives and viceversa, the performance, divided in two acts, traced Migrants’ journey to a new ‘promised’ Land. Their hopes shattered when, having falling prey to organized crime, Migrants’ identity is stripped of human dignity.
Exploring the harrowing theme of human trafficking, sexual exploitation and modern slavery,"Lust, Last, Lost", the latest multi‐media dance production, left the audience in awe at the Shaw Theatre on Tuesday, 9th August 2011.
In an extended production, the long awaited "Lust, Last, Lost", part of this year's Camden Fringe Festival, explored Migrants’ plight - from violence and abuse to hopes and dreams. Their treacherous journey across the seas often hits the headlines.
One of the fundamental principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that "all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights", however reality is such that many Migrants endure human rights violations of unimaginable proportions.
A team of international dancers led by Mimmo Miccolis, who also had the challenging task of choreographing the show, gave an energetic performance second to none.
The show, applauded by Accademia Apulia UK, was produced by Las Chicas Performance, a dance theatre company renowned for fusing together dance and drama.
